Six Sentence Sunday

Thanks for stopping by, and welcome back for another six sentences. If you missed the previous six sentences from my YA urban fantasy, Reaper's Novice, and would like to catch up, please click HERE and the second part HERE.

Today I'll post the next six from the dinner scene:

Not when they look like two fighters in a ring about to charge at each other.
My gaze shifts to Anton, his shoulders hunched, as if to ward off the words cracking the air like a whip. I look to Lucy next, her tiny shoulders trembling as she lifts a small, slender hand and wipes her nose.
Mom’s voice bursts from her lips like bullets in a quiet forest, jerking my attention back to her and Dad. “You should have told me. You didn’t bother because you don’t respect me. My decisions.” Her sky blue eyes flash at Dad, her cheeks flushed.

Feedback/Comments are ALWAYS welcome. Anyone up for meteor showers watching tonight? Here in Vienna should be around midnight.
 Have a meteorlicious Sunday

Six Sentence Sunday

Thanks for taking time to stop by to read my Six. Wow, it's been a while since I took part in Six Sentences Sunday. Glad to be here.
Today I'll be sharing with you the opening  lines from my upcoming YA Urban Fantasy - Reaper's Novice - to be released in December. The MC's name is Ana. She is having dinner with her parents and siblings, and it isn't going very well. Here we go:

If anyone would have asked me if I preferred having my heart ripped out, artery by artery, or having multiple swift kicks directed to both my stomach and head, I’d have blinked stupidly and muttered, “Huh?”
That had been two years ago, when life had been heaven—roses and rainbows. Before everything spiralled and plunged into hell. Before Dad and Mom’s fights strayed from their bedroom to enhance the quality of our family dinners. Before thorns threatened to puncture the bubble that had cushioned us safely in its embrace.
Now, looking at them, I’m weighing the two choices.

Thanks again for visiting. Please let me know what you think. I'd love to hear from you. To visit other participatants, visit: http://sixsunday.com/

Six Sentence Sunday (#3) 26th Feb

Another Sunday, another Six. Wow, it's been  a while since I took part in this wonderful hop. Today, I will be posting the first six form my WIP YA dark fantasy, Grim Reaper's Novice. This is the begining of the story. Two years ago Ana's (the MC), family were involved on a car accident claiming their lives. She traded her soul for the four souls of her family, to work for the Grim Reaper.
Now she is about to be tested before she graduates to Soul Collector graduate. Unfortunately she has no idea what the test involves, and with Grim, well, it's not like she will be given a multiple choice test to circle the correct answers. :D

So, here we go:

My soul belongs to the Grim Reaper. Most nineteen year olds I know, are in the Uni, engaged to be married or bouncing a baby on their hip.

Not me. I collect souls for a living, a decision I don’t regret making.
Inside the Watchman Chamber of the south tower of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, I’m drawn to the summer blue  sky highlighted with red and orange streaks, and the fading yellow of the setting sun. Doves coo from somewhere close. I tap my high heeled foot fuelled by a fast beat song blaring from my music player. These are the rare moments of my self-created paradise while waiting for my assignments from The Grim Reaper.

Ok that went a bit beyond the Six sentences.

Six Sentence Sunday (#2) 18th Dec

Another Sunday, another six sentences, but somehow today I went over the required sixes.
Here goes the continuation from last Sunday's which can be found Here

Abruptly, he stopped his pacing, and crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes narrowed to slits as if in concentration.
She paused as well, eyeing him warily and fisted her hands to stop the trembling. Probably weighing how much I'd fill his stomach
"So, he sent you. A mere girl, not a day older than eighteen is my guess."
Selicia bristled, the triumphant feeling of before evaporating at the tone of his voice. "And you know that how?"
His eyes travelled up and down the length of her short height, and chuckled. "Go back, little girl. Tell your employer to send someone more...worthy of my attentions."

Six Sentence Sunday (#1) 11th Dec

Welcome to the my blog. This is the first time I am taking part in Six Sentence Sunday, and I am looking forward to have fun and read the other wonderful entries as well. So, without further ado, here are my six sentences from my WIP, the Shadow Keeper. (Working Title) ,an introduction of the heroine, Selicia sent by her employer as a representative to collect some debts from the Den, a place feared far and wide, because of the Firebreathers who habitate

Her fists clenched and senses alert, Selicia mirrored the steps of the man pacing a circle around her. Inwardly she cursed her employer for sending her to the Den. The worst thing about it was, with just a breath from those luscious lips, she'd be ashes in the wind. Oh, the things she did for love!

In his golden eyes, she saw insatiable hunger that had nothing to do with him lusting after her, and everything to do with her being a mid-lunch snack. Deadly didn't even begin to describe him. She fought hard to hide a smile; he probably didn't realise that she was just as deadly.
