What's up Wednesday (1) + Read.Set. Write

Soo, this is my first What's up Wednesday post, and I m so excited!! haha. Well, I signed up for Read.Set. Write yesterday. If you want to know what's it's all about, hop over to Read.Set. Write for more info. I think it's going to be fun!

What I'm reading:

I'm reading two books: Picture Perfect by Alessandra Thomas and Dare You To by Katie McGarry. I am the slowest of readers, because I have to divide my time between my full time work, writing and beta reading.

What I'm writing:

I'm finishing up my contemporary romance Truly, Deeply, Yours, the sequel to Truly Madly Deeply You. So starting tomorrow I will go back to completing A Need so Insatiable, A NA/Adult crossover. I have about 20k to go. Then start working on my YA Urban Fantasy, the sequel to Reaper's Novice.

Reaper's Novice is told through Ana's POV. I am still debating if I should writing the sequel in two POVs. One of the boys in the story, and Ana's. Or just Ana's

My goal until next Wednesday is at least 7000 words. *crossing fingers*

In the meantime, I would love to share a snippet with you.  This is one a conversation between Ana and Siegfried ( Zig) in Paris, tracking down Jean, one of the Elite.

Paris.

City of love and lights. Right now, it’s a city of nightmares. Finding Jean the Immortaliser in these crowded streets is killing me, one blood vessel at a time.

I swipe at the sweat rolling down my temple with the back of my hand. Gah, it’s like the sun is punishing us for having the audacity to enjoy summer.

“I thought you said you knew where he lived?” I say, skirting around a hawker, who in turn mirrors my steps, shoving a bunch of colourful scarfs under my nose. He speaks to fast. I have no idea what he is blabbering about. I shake my head and finally manage to move away.

“I did,” Zig says, sounding too cheerful. He reaches out a hand. “Must have slipped through our fingers.”

I want to throttle him. What is he so cheerful about? “You mean your fingers.”

“Stop being grouchy.”

I’m not grouchy,” I say, glaring at him. I breathe out. “Sorry I’m grouchy.”

“Want to talk about it?”

I exhale. “Same old.”

“The daredevil?”

I nod. "I don’t know what to do. Has Bastian heard from Schulz?”

He shakes his head. As we enter Avenue des Champs-Élysées from Rue De Berri, he grabs my arm and steers me towards Place Charles de Gaulle.  "I heard he displays some of his portraits in a gallery around here somewhere."  He cranes his neck, glancing up and down the street.

“I need to be home by five. I have a date with Lucy,”

“Doing what?” Zig says, tossing a handful of M&Ms in his mouth.

“Feeding ducks.” I stare at Zig, challenging him to make a joke out of it, He doesn’t. In fact he looks as though he is about to beg me to join us.

I roll my eyes.
He grins and says, “Of course, I would love to join you. Glad you asked me.”

“You realise you just invited yourself, right?”

“You invited me. Or rather your beautiful brown eyes begged me, Ana.”

What else I've been up to:

Right now, I am packing stuff in boxes. My kiddies and I are moving to another flat. I hope we will settled by the end of this month.

What inspires me right now:

Lately I've been chatting with writer friends of mine, and I have to say I feel inspired just by talking to them. I joined New Adult Authors Unite group in Facebook. It's one of the best groups I've ever been in, and I'm having so much fun meeting new people.
