Happy Thursday! I'm taking part in this fun blog hop hosted by Lexa Cain and Julie Flanders, in celebration of their new releases, Soul Cutter

 and The Ghosts of Aquinnah.

If you'd link to the hop join, the link is still open for the next three days-- Dream Destination Hop. Would love to have you on board. :) For a chance to win some really awesome prices, please visit Lexa and Julie's blogs.

My Dream Destination is...

Venice, Italy

Looks so romantic, right? I know, I know, I am a hopeless romantic, and the thought of visiting this makes me giddy.

I'd love to float around in a gondola, experience the culture, and the history stamped on it's walls and waters.

Attend the carnival and dress-up. Aren't the costumes gorgeous?
Plus Venice is Antonio Vivaldi's birthplace! How cool is that!!! :D

I leave you with a breathtaking image of this beautiful city.

What about you? What's your dream destination?

  3. Not to sound totally stuck-up, but Venice is utterly amazing. I did enjoy some of the other nearby islands a little more though (less tourists, lol!). Personally, right now, I'd just want to be home. Back in Cali with my family. But, a trip to visit friends on the beach in Mexico also sounds pretty dang nice (especially with the temps dipping below zero here today).

  9. There's so many places I'd love to visit. Every country on South-East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Africa, India, Cuba, Brasil... And of course Tenerife and the other Canaria Islands. I have an endless list!

  10. I think anyone with even the teensiest flicker of romance in her heart would get all aflutter at the thought of going to Venice. (I'd want our gondolier to sing to us in a deliciously beautiful clear tenor voice. YUM.) Great choice!

  11. What a great choice. There's nowhere else in the world like Venice. It's got so much romantic and exciting history, and who wouldn't love a gondola ride? Your pics are so lovely. Makes me want to go there right now! Thanks for joining the hop! :-)

  14. Oh to be in Venice during a carnival with those lovely masks. What a wonderful dream that I hope you make a reality.

  15. I've always wanted to go, but my mum just returned and says it was over priced and smelt like a sewer! She lacks a sense of romance mind you, perhaps that's require to override the less pleasant aspects of it? We wed in the Venetian Hotel in Vegas... (stunning!) but still long for the original city. :)

  16. There's just something so magical about Venice, isn't there? It's like Atlantis .... but above water!

  17. Ah yes. The closest I've been to that splendid romantic scene is the Venitian Hotel in Vegas.
    Great photos and dream.

  20. Been to Venice once a couple of years ago and I loved it. Ok, there are way too many tourists and doves, but aside from that, it's a lovely place with many, many cool places :)

    Great post!

  25. You've picked one of my favourite places in the world. I've been to Venice and it really is breathtaking! Not only are the canals extraordinary, but also the maze of little back streets and tiny shops overflowing with masquerade treasures for Carnivale. *sigh* I really hope you make it there one day, Cecelia! :)

  27. Venice is a wonderful spot. Still haven't figured out how the waterways work with the buildings and stuff, but it's definitely a unique place in which to live. A gondola ride would be lovely.
