Tom’s only distraction is Ari, the girl he studies with for their chemistry
class.
Ari has one goal when she arrives in town: see how much Tom knows about the
Sary and neutralize the situation. This isn’t a normal job, but protecting the
secrecy of the Sary is vital. If Tom is a threat to exposing the Sary to the
public, fate has a way of taking care of the situation, usually ending with the
mortal’s death. While Ari spends time with Tom, he becomes more than just an
assignment, but how far can a relationship go when she can’t tell him who she
really is? When she finds out just how much Tom actually knows about the Sary,
Ari is forced to choose between her wings, and her heart.
THE CHEMISTRY OF FATE is a companion to COLORS LIKE MEMORIES and is set before
the latter takes place. It is geared toward an upper YA, or New Adult audience.

My Writing Cave
Thanks so much for hosting me today! I’m a
bit ashamed to be posting about my writing spot, but it is an excellent excuse to
actually clean off my desk. Granted, I’m currently not at my desk (I’ve escaped
to the local bookstore), but I always enjoy seeing where everyone else writes,
so I’ll share J.
The most important things that go into my
writing cave are my computer and my music. The first has spell check, which I’d
be pretty much lost without, and the second helps me get lost in whatever I’m
working on. I pretty much always have music on, both for work and writing, and
listen to anything and everything. Lately, that’s involved a lot of Imagine
Dragons and Passion Pit, but The Black Keys and Train are staples.
My other writing cave components are my
notebook and white board. Both help me keep track of what
I’m attempting to do in the mess of a series I’m attempting to put together J. Plus, it gives me an excuse to add to my vast pen collection (I’m
a major sucker for pens in every color, and cute notebooks!).
Depending on the temperature, I’m also
liable to have a small bucket of hot chocolate on hand. I like to make my own,
with milk and cocoa. Hubby gave me a hot chocolate maker a few years ago and
I’ve nearly worn the thing out with how many batches I’ve made on cold Montana
mornings/evenings/days.
As you can see in the pictures, I also have
some decorations for my desk. I got a little carried away with the butterflies,
and have a pretty eclectic collection of cards I’ve found here and there. I
like the randomness of it, and they all have some personal meaning for me.
Maybe someday I’ll find a way to actually
have a clear desk while I’m at it, but that’s certainly not today!
